Add your team

This page answers: “How do I add a team member and how do they log in?”

Short version: invite them from the Members page, they get an email with a link to set their password, and then they sign in at app.jiviq.com with their email and that password. Adding people costs nothing extra on any plan.

Invite a team member

You need the owner or admin role to invite people.

  1. In the admin app at app.jiviq.com, open Members in the sidebar.
  2. Click Invite Member.
  3. Enter their Name and Email, and pick a Role (default is Member; see the role table below). Title, Bio, and Skills are optional profile details you can fill in later.
  4. Click Invite.

Two things happen:

  • Jiviq emails them an invitation (“You’re invited to join your business on Jiviq”) with a Set Up My Account button.
  • The dialog also shows the same setup link so you can copy it and send it yourself — handy if the email lands in spam or you’d rather message it to them directly.

The setup link expires in 1 hour for security (the email says so too). If it stops working before they use it, resend it (see below) — nothing is lost.

How they log in

  1. They open the invitation email and click Set Up My Account.
  2. They choose a password.
  3. They go to app.jiviq.com and sign in with their email and that password.

Tell them to sign in, not sign up. The invite already created their account and connected it to your business. If they go through the “Start for free” signup instead, they’ll create a brand-new, empty business account that has nothing to do with yours.

Sign-in problems? See Login troubleshooting.

On the Members page, find the person’s card and click the mail icon (Resend invite). Jiviq sends them a fresh email and also copies the new setup link to your clipboard, so you can paste it straight into a message.

They can also click Forgot password? on the sign-in page themselves — it emails them a link to set a password, which works just as well.

Roles

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerThe person who created the account. Full control of everything. There is one owner, and the owner can’t be edited or disabled from the Members page.
AdminEverything a member can do, plus manage the team: invite people, change roles, and disable accounts.
MemberWorks customer chats day to day: read and reply, receive new-message notifications, and manage their own profile and availability. Can’t manage the team.
ViewerRead-only. Can sign in and watch conversations and data, but can’t reply or change anything, and doesn’t receive new-message alerts.

Only owners and admins can invite, edit, or disable team members. Everyone else sees the Members page but can only manage their own details.

To change someone’s role later: click the pencil icon on their card, pick the new role, and click Update. If they’re signed in at the time, they may need to sign out and back in to see the change.

Deactivate someone

  1. On the Members page, click the person-with-an-x icon on their card.
  2. Confirm Disable.

They immediately lose access to the admin — their login stops working. Their card stays in the list, grayed out, so their history isn’t lost.

A few guardrails:

  • You can’t disable yourself.
  • The owner can’t be disabled.
  • Disabling is reversible. To bring someone back, click the pencil icon on their card, assign a role, and click Update. Their login works again with the same password.

Does adding people cost more?

No. Both plans include unlimited teammates — there are no per-seat fees. See Billing and plans.
